Abstact: Social media
refers to websites that are designed to allow people to share content quickly,
efficiently, and in real time. Social media is also known as apps on their
Smartphone or tablet but the truth is, this communication tool started
with computers. This misconception stems from the fact that most social media
users access their tools via apps. Social Medias are fundamentally
changing the way we communicate, consume and create. They represent one of
the most transformative impacts of information technology on business. The
issue was a designed to stimulate innovative investigations of the
relationship between social media and business transformation. Social
media is both, good and bad. It has actually changed our lives in many ways
since its inceptions. Perhaps the biggest problems that people face is the
amount of time they spend on the social media networks. But this is
essential nowadays if we want a strong social media presence. We can’t forget
the impact of social media signals that is essential for bloggers and
other professionals. Social media has many benefits the social media sites
are great places to build connections, for personal and professional work. But
here we want to focus on the problems with social media. Besides the usual
problems with social media we face, especially on the social networking
sites, there are a few other social media issues like – social media plagiarism
problems, Legal and Ethical Social Media Problems, Social Media Marketing
Problems. Users of social media platforms Facebook and instagram seem to
be facing technical glitches and an outage across the world. Messaging
app whatsapp too wan not spared, with users reporting issues on the
platform as well as. Facebook took to Twitter to address the technical
issues. According to technology blogger and app researcher Jane Manchun Wong,
who is famous in Silicon Valley for uncovering new features by Tech
companies before their launch, said that the reason for technical glitches
could be in ‘Facebook image CDN being down.’ The common crimes
being committed on or as a result of social media :-

Introduction:-
What
is Social Media?

media are interactive computer mediated technologies that facilitate the
creation or sharing of information , ideas, career interests and other forms of
expressions via virtual communities and networks. The mass media are diversified media technologies which are
intended to reach large audience by mass communication but technology varies
based on the communication. Electronically information can be transmitted
through broadcast media such as, film, television, radio and recorded music.
Newspaper, book, pamphlet or comics are physical objects and they come under
print media. Under mass media public speaking and event organizing will also
come. Internet and mobile mass communication comes under digital media.
Internet media provides services of mass media, like email, websites, blogs,
facebook, what’s app and internet based radio and television. Mass media
targets very large market like entire population of a country.
The
presence of the social media is currently seen in the various ways and means of
communication. For example, television, radio and press have created profiles
in the social networks in order to remind of their existence, to inform about
the latest news regarding the program or content, as well as to represent
themselves.
The use of social media
The gathered quantitative data regarding the use of social networks among the
local media show that the local media are integrated in the Internet
environment differently. The amount of the extent and frequency the mass media
use the social media and those who have not got their own profile is different;
moreover, many of the media have not even considered the possibility to use
them. Among the local media, newspapers demonstrate the most evident tendency.
As one can see, they use draugiem.lv and twitter accounts frequently. The
entrance of draugiem.lv may be explained by the fact that it is the most
popular social network in Latvia, however, the importance of the twitter is acknowledged
by the offered possibilities – short, simple statements, phrazes, and quotes.
In the local newspapers, these are mostly the headings of publications and the
most relevant information which can be read in a particular newspaper’s issue.
However, the electronic media – radio and television – are quite active users
of all the above-mentioned social networks. The content of the electronic
media, unlike the press, is also more diverse. The local radio is quite an
active category of the media as well. The collected data show that only the
radio uses the elements of interactivity. The contests are a striking example,
indicating that the media maintain the relation with listeners. This means that
electronic media have faster adopted the social media as an innovation and use
its functions.
In these modern days internet is highly important for all
kinds of people because most of the people are using social media tools. The
social media tools are generally used to share and publish various documents,
news and other format files. Nowadays social media tools are very effective and
powerful tool for common people sharing own thoughts. The social actions are
highlighted with various important social media app. The internet
is very important for using these social media applications and other websites.
The social media can helps to build links for official sites and it helps to
easy access of sites and profile.
The commonly people are wants to connect with various
social media tools for sharing and liking and service access. The Facebook is
one of the social media tools and it highly helps to share videos and picture
representation formats and also options to like and download theses news’s. The
facebook contains larger number of users and it one of the powerful tools for
common people. The youtube is one of the best video and picture upload and
download application and it highly used by most of the people. The instagram is
one of the social media tools and it helps to share and update creative and
funny images. The pinterest is one of the common social media tools and it
helps to share and bookmarking sites and it also helps to share funny images.
The google plus is also one of the effective social media tools and it highly
provide better results for us. The LinkedIn is also one of the social media
tools and it highly effective for common people sharing various documents.
The Common Functions of Social Media
Tools
Generally social media sends and shares the messages to
huge amount of people or audience. The mass media generally helps with various
electronic and printed technologies. The social media information means various
data or informations are reach out to the various people with various
languages. The social media function of education is helps to education details
are spread with mass media. Some of the important social media programs are
dramas, documentaries, interviews, stories and others. The social media is more
important tool for educational awareness and entertainment. The social
entertainment contains the various performance and people informations are
spread with mass media for little fun. The social media helps to store
entertainments are specially broadcast in television and internet and other
communication tools. The combination of information and entertainment is
called the infotainment. Persuasion is one of media functions here some people
opinions and votes and other mind making informations all appeared. Common
tools are editorials, articles, commentaries and others. Surveillance is
maintained for observation and here observation means clearly watch social
involvements in online. The surveillance threats are social crime, drug abuse
and economic condition, increasing deforestation and other crimes. And some of
the function available in mass media those are interpreting, linkage,
socialization and others all helps to public. The common function of social
media is helps to pubic for access the informations.
Of the many path breaking innovations of the last two
decades, social media and its growth is perhaps the most phenomenal of success
stories, which touch all the aspects of the business as well as personal life.
The applications like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others which
started as a forum to express the views of people on various topics have grown
to touch the fields of marketing, data analysis, communication, reviews and
much more. Companies have started making business models by analyzing the data
available on these social media which help them to understand the needs and demands
of the customers. With the great outreach of these apps, they have become a
platform to express customer grievances and also one for consumers to judge
their goods from the reviews of other customers.
Facebook is a social
media platform which not only let you connect with your friends and family but
also let you know about the updates of world. Social media platforms are not
only interesting but fun as well and that’s why 80% of our generation is living
a social life. These social media platforms especially Facebook has helped
people in being more social and staying connected to their loved ones. This
platforms gives you an opportunity of learning the communication skills,
handling the people and being active among the people Facebook
is the most popular social networking site of all time , it has helped a lot to
cut down the physical boundaries , and it has its many benefits for personal or
for the business purposes , Facebook is free and it’s one of the best medium
for communication , It can help you connect to different people from anywhere
in the world as almost every people around the world use it .
Advantages of
Facebook
We can connect to different
people. And also make new friends. We can send messages ,video calls through
facebook. One can also do business through facebook. We can increase our
knowledge and also share our thoughts.
Disadvantages Of Facebook
Facebook is the most used social
networking website in the world. It has many benefits but there are many disadvantages
of Facebook too. Top disadvantages of Facebook include:
1) Account Intrusion
It is no surprise that Facebook is
vulnerable to attacks, and several hackers actively alter people's profile
information, on daily basis. There a hundreds of examples of this. Many
Facebook and ex-Facebook users can tell you that they noticed change in their
profile information while they were not logged in.
2) Scams
Many hackers have similar
websites to Facebook. They continuously send emails to people asking to log in
to their account to check new photos of their friends, or similar message.
When the user opens the website, it looks 100% Facebook, then he enters his
user id and password, not knowing that his a scammer.
3) Waste Of Life
One of the biggest Facebook
disadvantages is that it addictive or can become addictive easily. Once
you get connected with your Facebook friends you will realize how frequently
you open Facebook and also spend so much time in commenting, viewing other's
pictures, playing games or doing other stuff. Many people know drawbacks of
Facebook but can't stop using it.
4) Ruining of the Professional Life
If you are applying for a new job, you
know your chances of getting that job may be so much reduced because of your
social networking website profile page? Often employs search for applicant's
social networking website's profile page to know more about you. Maybe
you have put some humorous pics in your profile or maybe you have entered wrong
information (maybe just for fun) in your profile. Your employer will be
shocked to see all that and you will not be given the job offer.
5) Can't Keep Things Personal
You obviously do not
want your personal information exposed to every friend of yours or even to
public. On Facebook your personal life updates come to the notice of all your
friends and others, and so your privacy is compromised.

WhatsApp is quite addictive and that is
the reason why it is important to look at the advantages and disadvantages of
WhatsApp –
Advantages of WhatsApp

The biggest advantage of WhatsApp is that it is free and
there are no other charges for using it, so one can send or share photos,
messages, contacts, videos, make video calls to anywhere in the world and hence
it enables a person to save lot of money which earlier was spent on SMS and
video calling.
Disadvantages of WhatsApp
Sharing
of Wrong News and Information
Another big drawback of this application is that some
people consider all news and information shared on WhatsApp to be true which is
not the case as all things shared are not true which ultimately lead to
problems especially during sensitive periods like riots, elections, religious
functions and so on. Hence in a way, this application helps mischievous people
in creating panic and chaos leading to law and order problem in the country
which in turn create inconvenience for the people as well as the government of
the country.
Twitter
Twitter is
one the largest social networks on the internet , It is a free Social Network & very easy to
join , you can start tweeting to promote your work or share your ideas &
thoughts , You can expand your business or website’s audience , It is easy to
make the new contacts on Twitter , even outside the circle of friends , You
can post something that will provoke the interest of other people , You can
follow anyone on Twitter & anyone can follow you .
DISADVANTAGES OF
TWITTER
Twitter has posting
limites, it limites tweets to 140 characters. In addition you can send a
maximum of 1000 Tweets a day. Ever retweets count as tweets and makeup your
daily total number of allowed post.
ADVANTAGES AND
DISADVANTEGES OF INSTAGRAM
Advantages
Instagram is one of
the most popular mobile photo, video sharing application. It is a new method of
sharing the pictures online via the social media sites. It is a great way of
making or meeting new friends. We will find many friends, we will be relaxed,
we can share the pictures of our favourite food or pets and we can talk with
each other easily.
Disadvantages
Instagram has limited
features, it enables the users to resize the images and enhance the pictures
through a variety of filters, it has 18 effects in all such as X-Pro 2, Rise,
Early Bird and each new option needs to be installed or has a fee.
Social
Issues:-
A Social issue is a
problem that influences many individuals within a society. A Social issue has
many categories in depth as well as light. It’s a common problem in depth as
well as light. It’s a common problem we see happening in our society. A social
issue can be considered as a problem that influences many people and many
people strive to solve the issue.social media is a boon but every person on
social media is not mature or with good intention. I personally come across two case related to misuse of
social media or we can say sexual harassment .

She is doing masters
in English literature and criticism . on
august 2019 she went to attend a
conference . There was a person who was a key note speaker . after the conference the person talked to
her and asked for her number and mail address , she first gave her classmates
number but the person told her that all the number were not working so she gave
her number and after some time the person on whats app started sending dirty messages even he
threatened her to kidnap her. She was so scared and she went to depression .
then her teachers and parents noticed that and talked to her , then she told
them everything and after that they took leggel actions.
Mitali Patel :
She is doing masters
in English literature and criticism . she came in contect with a person on facebook and he misused the
information of Mitali Patel and she field the complaint against that person
in cyber crime .
Conclusion:-
Social issues are usually
concerned as derived from human factors and thus, social issues cannot be
eliminated, the only approach can be to solve most of them as much as possible.
